Hi ChinesePod team, my question is this: When will there be more content and how often do you plan to release new videos? It seems two months have passed without anything new.
Hi ChinesePod team, my question is this: When will there be more content and how often do you plan to release new videos? It seems two months have passed without anything new.
Hello!
We were going to release a second episode of the hospitality series but we are having some technical issues when it comes to releasing new content. Hopefully it will be resolved soon and I will keep you updated. In the meantime, could you share with us what kind of new content you would like to see?
Rebecca
Chinesepod also posts new content a couple of times a week on their YouTube channel:
It’s available to everyone for free
no subscription required.
Thanks. Personally, I would like to see more content that bridges the intermediate content with the upper intermediate content. Since purely audio lessons like the ones from the past are cheaper and easier to make, I would be really happy with just more of those!
I agree, the audio lessons are quite adequate for learning.
I’d also prefer if they prioritized creating audio lessons for the site over videos. I’m listening to a lot of the older intermediate lessons right now. I’ve found them very helpful for improving my listening comprehension.
I think bridging between Elementary to Intermediate, and then Intermediate to Upper intermediate, are the trickiest steps. More lessons focused on these transitions would be helpful for me.
What made (emphasis on the past tense) ChinesePod unique was the audio lessons. YouTube is chock full of people talking about Chinese and then teaching some vocabulary. There is nothing unique about that and I am incredibly disappointed that ChinesePod decided to go in this direction. ChinesePod was an excellent resource for Chinese learning when new lessons came out with a high degree of frequency, but there’s nothing special about a website that has a no longer updating with any degree of frequency library of lessons.
Will the ChinesePod team respond by asking me what kind of content I’m looking for instead of giving a straight forward answer on why there hasn’t been any new advanced content for years?
@Discobot fortune
It is certain

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.
Becca, please do give us the update. Since there has been no new content since June it is seeming like there might be something more to it than technical issues.
I totally agree with this comment. I would like the same–more intermediate to upper intermediate content, and audio is just fine.
I’m seeing lots of new content on Spotify by Chinesepod but it’s not filtering to the app or site?
When you say “new content” what do you mean? An old lesson newly posted on Spotify? Or an actual fresh lesson that has never appeared on the website before?
Unfortunately,I also think Chinese Pod has become a ghost town…. They charged me twice this month so I wrote asking for explanation the issue. Guess what ? No reply…
Were you able to get it resolved? That’s pretty shady.
Thanks for posting this. I’ll make a note to keep an eye on my CC.
Chinesepod team, could you please update us on what is going on here? There has been no new content since June.
I also greatly prefer the audio episodes. More convenient, and the audio version of the video’s feels a bit, ‘clumsy’. The audio dialogues are THE MOST USEFUL tool on Chinesepod!
Also curious why about the break in content. What’s the gossip?
Hello! Currently, our team is engaged in the development of new content that is designed to meet the needs and interests of our valued audience. Rest assured, this new material is being prepared with utmost care and attention to detail, and we anticipate that it will be made available for upload in the near future.
Rest assured…A big lol to this
It has gotten beyond ridiculous at this point, not having had a single update beyond a generic text.
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.
I paid 249$ for my subscription several days ago, but it is still written that I’m not subscribed, I can’t access any of the premium subscription lessons. I tried to contact the ChinesePod team - no answer( Very very sad
We apologize for the inconvenience. To help resolve the subscription issue, please provide us with the following details:
You may share above mentioned detail at support@chinesepod.com, we’ll work on fixing this promptly.
Thank you,
So…a year later and here we are. Should we just accept that there never will be new content then?
Hey! hydrogensulphide! Sorry for inconvenience you guys are facing within few weeks you’ll watch new contents on our platform. our team is working hard on this project and we will not disappoint you guys more longer. So, stay tuned plz.
Ok, that sounds promising.
Hello, with more than a year without new content, I am wondering if there will actually be more content, and if so when and how much? And also why doesnt the APP work at all?
These are good questions. Sad to say, but I think the best we can expect from the company these days is is a generic, canned response posted here apologizing for the delay, promising that new content is coming any day now, and asking you to email support about the app :(.
Honestly I find the lack of transparency in their responses to be bordering on lying to consumers at this point. We’re paying for access to a site that provides regular, new content as well as access to existing content. If they have no intention of creating new content for their site, they should just say that, reduce the cost of subscription, and just offer the existing content as an archive.
Also, I don’t think that ChinesePod has been supporting their app for a while now. They’ve been suggesting that people just use the website on their phones.

Whatever the deal is with atif, they’re also replying to comments over on the site’s YouTube channel in both English and Mandarin, sometimes to comments that were posted months ago…
